Crane Collapse Ties Up Traffic In Maryland (Updated)

Traffic came to a halt in parts of Maryland on Friday morning when a construction crane collapsed and blocked a stretch of I-70.

Crews were called to Washington County at approximately 9 a.m. on Friday, July 28, where a crane went down near Crystal Falls Drive in Hagerstown, prompting an emergency response.

All lanes were closed and detours were put in place until the State Highway Administration could clear the scene of the crane collapse, according to Maryland State Police.

It is unclear what caused the incident. One construction worker was take to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
